Greening the Event

Creates goal / focus areas such as
*Food
*Waste
*Transportation
*Education on event greening

Marketing / Communications

 Work with Program Development and Event Planner on outreach materials
 Draft press releases
 Develop an outreach plan for getting the word out about the event
 Social networking sites
o Twitter
o Facebook
o Linked In
o Blogging?
 Draft conference program with support from Program Development, Core Committee, Sponsorship and Exhibitors
 Invite potential attendees
 Come up with a post / pre conference survey?
 Brainstorm and implement ideas for successful media releases and highlights for the event

Core Committee

* Provide feedback from subcommittees to Core Committee

* Give feedback and direction to Subcommittees

* Develop theme

* Reviews and approves logo, program materials

* Provides feedback for educational series / tracks (helps select)

* Approves conference rates, exhibit hall, sponsorship rates

* Meets on a regular basis

* Develops conference goals

* Develops conference Mission

* Identifies stakeholders

* Networks with key partner organizations and stakeholders

 Works on AIA CEU’s and other like minded CEU’s (ALA, APA, IIDA, etc)
 Submits EPP language and programs

 Pre/Post conference (tours, workshops, USGBC/HRC items…)
 Networking / Social events

 Recommends keynote speaker(s) with budget
 Drafts call for presenters
 Develops requirements for review

 Provides information to Marketing, Promotions, Communications, Event Planner


Pre/Post conference events
 Determines pre/post/during conference tours of appropriate sites
 Works with building owners / managers for logistics of tours
 Develops budget for tours
 Identifies pre/post events
 Works with National and HRC for pre/post conference workshops / retreats
 Works with Renee Molstad for workshops

Networking / Social events
 Determines networking / social events
 Finds venue, if offsite
 Determines budget
